Baptism Of Fire...
by Wayne Whitehouse
The youth started the season ,with a tough game to last seasons promoted champions, losing 6-1 away from home
The score does not reflect the game or the performance which was very positive in many aspects.
Preparation had been hampered by many holidays & injuries to squad ,with three boys returning on day of match.
However its the same for both sides. For an hour the game was balanced at 1-1 with Sphinx looking more likely to take all the points, however individual errors cost us heavily in the end for 5 of the goals.
The Sphinx goal was a flowing move with 6 passes from back to front leaving Jordan Hiscox to chip goalkeeper from edge of box.
Full credit to our lads who stuck to the task with good spirit & attitude, as first years the learning curve has began, fitness ,concentration levels have to go up a notch ,
Many thanks to the opposition for the welcome & excellent ground facilities, for us we take it on the chin, move on & improve together to Coleshill Town game.
