Run Matty Run......

It was a cold, wet Saturday morning for Coventry Sphinx F.C. first 10 mile sponsored run and credit where credits due 22 players ran there proverbials off to raise some much needed funds.

All who took part met at 10.45am and it was Rich Hopkins who ferried the players to Ryton Pools in a mini-bus kindly given to us for the day by CV2 Self Drive.

Nigel Starkey,Chris Daffern and young Lennon Knibbs manned the water stations to keep all runners hydrated.

With directions posted along the route to stop runners getting lost all went like clockwork.....nearly.

First home was Josh Ozzy in 1hr 18 minutes followed closely by bookies favourite Liam Kay & Jack Edwards. Everyone came home safe and sound and all showed a very good level of fitness in what will now be an annual event.

Manager Danny McSheffrey said "I was a bit sceptical at first as I thought it might of led to a few pulled muscles etc but to be honest it was a brilliant event which was great for team spirit, with the only person suffering is myself!!!"

Like I said above all went smoothly......nearly. a nomination for the Tit Of The Year Award went to Matty Budd who for some reason decided not to follow the signs and ended up in Ernesford Grange adding a mile or so onto his route!!
